Houston Texans cornerback Ronald Darby, 31, has announced his retirement after 10 seasons in the NFL, NFL Network reported.
Darby signed a one-year, $2.5 million deal on March 17 after playing his first 10 seasons with the Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders, Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars. Over the course of his career, he has 447 tackles, 106 pass breakups and eight interceptions in 118 games (107 starts) since entering the league as a second-round draft pick in the 2015 class.
Darby’s premature retirement leaves the Texans with a veteran core back, but they still have good wide receivers in Derek Stingley Jr., Kamari Lassiter and Jalen Pytre.
