However, the 24-year-old has recovered and returned to training and is ready to play for the first time in almost four months when Leverkusen host Bundesliga 2 side Cologne at the Bay Arena on Wednesday, February 5.

“We’ve really missed him on the pitch in the last few months and we’re delighted he’s back fit,” Alonso said of Adli.

Asked how much time he would play, Alonso replied: “I don’t know, maybe 20 or 30 minutes.” 

That leaves the only injured players for the Pharmacy Army now with only Martin Terrier and Jenuel Belosian.
