Villarreal have reached an agreement with Basel for an initial fee of €12m plus €3m in bonuses to sign Barry, with the 21-year-old set to undergo a medical and sign the deal in due course.

The French forward previously played for Sochaux and Beveren before joining Basel in the summer of 2023. He scored 12 goals and provided five assists in 37 games last season and has made a strong start to this campaign, scoring eight goals in just 283 minutes, and is set to sign for Marcelino Garcia Toral’s Villarreal.
