Thiet joins Frankfurt on loan with option pgzen

The Belgium international has agreed terms with the Red and Black Eagles and Thiet was officially unveiled and signed the contract on Sunday. ( pgzen )

Frankfurt’s statement said Thiet initially joined on loan but the club had conditions to sign a permanent deal as previously agreed with Rennes.

In the case of the loan terms, Sky Sport Germany added that if Thiet can successfully comply with the details that Frankfurt have agreed with Rennes, the terms will be changed to a binding condition that forces the Red and Black Eagles to sign the 24-year-old defender immediately.

If the above conditions are met, Frankfurt will have to pay Rennes €13 million, plus a further €4 million in future performance bonuses and a share of the player’s transfer fee.

It will now be up to Thiet to deliver on his promise and, should the move become permanent, the Belgian defender will be contracted until mid-2029.
