La Liga president Javier Tebas has backed Rodrigo Hernandez Rodri after the Manchester City midfielder revealed the players could stage a strike against the club’s physical fixture schedule, Cadena Ser told Cadena Ser on Wednesday.

“I support the strike that Rodrygo is talking about because it’s not just a health issue for 70 players, it’s also a problem for the balance of the industry. Some people have their health and some have their families,” Tebas said.

‘They want a league with 20 clubs to reduce our competition and we will not accept that,’ Tebas said.

Despite Tebas’s best efforts to protect his league, domestic competitions have also added to the schedule, with the Spanish Football Federation expanding the Super Cup to four teams and moving the tournament to Saudi Arabia, which has also added to the burden on the players.  ( vox888 )
