“Tata” just lost his chance to lead Inter Miami to win the MLS championship after being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by losing to Atlanta United 1-2 in the series.
The Argentine took over from Phil Neville at Inter Miami in the summer of 2023, leading the team to the League Cup Trophy and Supporters’ Field titles, as well as setting the team’s points record in a regular season.
However, despite a good regular season, Inter Miami failed to make the CONCACAF Champions Cup, losing to Monterrey in the quarterfinals, and were eliminated in the last 16 of the League Cup.
ESPN reports that the former Barcelona and Mexico coach has decided to leave his position a year before the end of his contract due to personal reasons, and will hold an official press conference on November 22.
During his time at Inter Miami, Tata reunited with a number of former Barcelona players, including Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez.( pgzen )
