Rhys Williams joined Liverpool as a youth player, making 19 senior appearances during the 2020/21 season and having spells with Swansea City, Blackpool, Aberdeen and Port Vale. ( pgzen )

Last season, the 23-year-old spent time with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, but only made one appearance, before moving to Port Vale in January where he was unfortunately injured again and did not play at all. 

The player is currently not in the plans of new manager Arne Slot and has been sent on loan to League Two side Morecambe until January next year, while his contract at Anfield runs until 2026.

For Morecambe, the new League Two season has started with two defeats to Walsall and Preston, with Doncaster coming up next on Saturday.
