Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski praises C.J. Stroud. The rookie quarterback of the Houston Texans before the two teams will face each other in the Super Wild Card playoff round this Saturday, according to a report from NFL Network.  superwinway

The Browns are the only team since the 1984 Chicago Bears to advance to the playoffs in a season where they had five starting quarterbacks in a season. It was 1950 before Stefanski led the No. 5 seed to face the No. 4 Texans on Saturday.  ( superwinway )

Stefanski had a chance to watch the tape in the Browns’ 36-22 win over the Texans in Week 16 on December 24. The 41-year-old head coach admitted that he was quite impressed with the quarterback, the No. 2 rookie draft pick, as well.

‘He’s great,’ Stefanski said of Stroud. ‘I remember watching him from the beginning. Because we had crossover tape and were preparing to play against Baltimore, I knew he was playing. That was his first game. And I think even in that game You see the play and the pitching and you know that kid has real talent. I know Ohio State, I’ve seen him play a little bit. Therefore, he was a very talented young man. And I think this tape is something that us coaches often go back and watch. And he’s got some really great tapes.’

The Browns started Davis Mills in the 36-22 win over the Texans while Stroud is in contraction protocol, so Stefanski has a chance. See the 22-year-old quarterback play live for the first time on Saturday. and will face quarterback Joe Flacco (38 years old) 

In 15 games, Stroud played in his rookie season, throwing for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns and just five interceptions before leading the Texans past the Jacksonville Jaguars. Horses win the AFC South division and advance to the playoffs for the first time since 2019.

Stroud is averaging 273.9 yards per game, the second best performance of any rookie quarterback of all time. and ranks 3rd in the NFL this season. But the 22-year-old quarterback is set to face a challenge against the Browns, who have the league’s No. 1 defense.
