New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olaf, 24, insists he isn’t worried about the concussion that has plagued the former 2022 first-round draft pick in the 2024 season, NFL Network reports. bgames666

Olaf missed nine games in 2024 and played fewer than 10 snaps in two more after suffering two concussions, the first on Nov. 3, that kept him out of the final eight games of the season. 

“It was really hard at first. I’ve never had to sit out that long,” Olaf said. “That was my first real injury. Not being able to go to training and meet with my guys was the worst part. But I feel like I’m ready. I’ve been training, lifting weights and doing everything in December, so I feel like I’m doing well.”

Olaf has had two excellent first two seasons, averaging over 1,000 receiving yards in those two years and proving his ability to run great routes, but he has suffered at least four head injuries over three seasons — one in 2022, two in 2023 and two more in 2024 — and has had to seek medical attention.

‘They said I was OK in December when they gave me the go-ahead, it was just an unfortunate situation that I had,’ Olaf said. ‘God was with me at the end, I wasn’t worried about anything, so I just had to go out there 100 per cent and be ready.’ 

Olaf still has two years left on his rookie contract after the Saints picked up his fifth-year option worth $15.493 million amid trade rumors, but the 24-year-old wide receiver isn’t interested.

‘It’s just a rumor,’ Olaf said. ‘In the off-season, everyone tries to find something to bring people in. So I love it here. I love the management. I love my coaches. I’m excited to be here and I want to be here forever.’ ( bgames666 )
