Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has confirmed that third-year quarterback Kenny Pickett will be Jalen Hurts’ backup in the 2024 season, with Tanner McGee serving as the third-stringer, NFL Network reports. sakidbet

“You saw what they did today. Kenny’s our second man and Tanner’s our third man, and I’m really happy to have them on the team,” Sirianni said after the 14-13 preseason win over the New England Patriots.  ( sakidbet )

Pickett started in place of Hurts, completing 11 of 13 passes for 67 yards, averaging 5.2 yards per attempt, forfeited four sacks and scored three points on five drives in the first half.

McGee came on in the third quarter and powered a two-drive game that ended in a loss of possession, completing 15 of 19 passes for 140 yards, averaging 7.4 yards per pass, and was free of Sacks before Will Greer came on in the final quarter. 

“I thought they both did a good job today,” Sirianni said. “I thought, you know what, Kenny did. 11 of 13, two ground balls. He got some pressure. Tanner played well. I thought he was 15 of 19, made some good throws. I thought Will did a good job. I’m glad they’re on the team now. I’m really glad. That’s a good area and they’re all helping Jalen, helping each other, and I like that. It’s a really good area.”

‘As I said, what stopped the drive in the first half was the pressure we got and we didn’t do well in that area for a number of reasons, so we’ll see why. I thought they both played really well, just some of the pressure Kenny got in the first half.’
