Russell Wilson, a 35-year-old quarterback, said he felt more comfortable playing in his second game as the Pittsburgh Steelers’ first-stringer before leading the Steelers to a 26-18 victory over the New York Giants on Monday night, ESPN reported. ( biggame1688 )

Wilson completed 20 of 28 passes for 278 yards, one touchdown, no interceptions and a 114.9 passer rating as the Steelers beat the Giants 26-18, their second straight win since taking over from Justin Fields.

‘I feel much more agile. I’ve never missed a game in my life and if you miss five or six games and you just think, ‘Okay, you have to have a rhythm’. Sometimes it’s not easy to have the ball every time, especially when you’re playing against a good team, so you have to react. I think the most important thing is to react.’

“I just don’t think he needs to warm up with it,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said of Wilson. “There’s a little bit less wear and tear than last week, but I’m not surprised by his ability.”

Wilson drove the team’s offense well, each time ending in a field goal, but two of his throws to wide receiver George Pickens were called back for incomplete receptions.

“It’s an interesting rule,” Wilson said. “It’s like we thought maybe he dragged his toes. Maybe he fell. We fell on the same foot, and it was clear one foot and then the other. It’s like you fall on your knees, and it counts as a touchdown. And falling on both feet might count, but I don’t know.”

‘George played very well. I know he wanted those two touchdowns. We all wanted that. It would have given us a good run of results early on.’

‘We’re very confident. We haven’t done anything yet. We’re 6-2, which is good, but it doesn’t mean anything. When we look back, we have to make sure we’re focused on the next job, and that’s taking care of the body, taking care of the mind, enjoying this with the family and everything else during the bye week.’

‘Because we have the momentum ahead of us and there are still many good games ahead of us and we will not shy away from them.’
