    Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkze have scored just three goals between them this season, and Ruud admits the Red Devils need a striker who can provide the goals if they are to return to the top.

    “I agree, when you want to be a successful team in the Premier League and in Europe, that’s what the team is built around. You need consistency in scoring goals, that’s clear,” Ruud said.

    “That’s the reality of football and that’s why the best teams in the world need players like that and at the moment we have players who score goals or make assists but obviously they are young and have a lot to improve.”
