Kyle Rudolph, a 31-year-old veteran winger for the Minnesota Vikings, insists he is worth every cent of his salary. Even though they did not perform well last season and may be asked to take a pay cut or be released from the team. According to a report from NFL Network on Tuesday.  ( messi1688  )

‘I’m obviously realistic. I see both sides,’ Rudolph said. ‘If I were (owner) Wilf, if I were (general manager) Rick (Spillman), I’d look at this situation like, ‘Hey, we pay. Give this man a lot of money and you are not using him. So why do we keep paying him so much money?’

‘With things said like that. I think I’m worth every cent in my contract. That doesn’t mean I take advantage of my abilities and I take advantage of what I’m good at. So it will be interesting in the next few months. As I said I still have 3 more years on my contract. I don’t want to go anywhere else. I became a good blocker because I was forced to. It’s certainly not something I’ve ever been good at at any point in my career. Maybe it was in high school because I was bigger than everyone else. But even then I just wanted to run around and catch the ball.’

In 2019, the Vikings extended Rudolph’s four-year, $36 million contract just two months after selecting Erve Smith Jr. as a second-round draft pick, with the experienced winger slated to receive it. With $9.45 million in 2021 salary, if the Vikings cut Rudolph, they would save $5.1 million and have $4.35 million in dead money.

Rudolph caught just 28 passes for 334 yards and one touchdown. which was the lowest performance of his career from playing 12 games in the 2020 season. ‘At the beginning of last season the writing was on the wall. I see where our offense is going. I had 7 or 8 receptions in the first 6 games. I was absolutely rubbish. I’m literally a blocker all the time.’
