Roma have had a poor start to the 2024/25 season, picking up three points from their first four games, three draws and a win, leading the club to decide to sack De Rossi.

The club’s statement on Wednesday said the decision was in the best interests of the team and that they wanted to get back on track as soon as possible, while thanking De Rossi for his hard work for the team.

De Rossi was brought in to replace Jose Mourinho at the start of last season and led the team to a sixth-place finish in the table, securing a place in the Europa League, where they will face Athletic Bilbao in the middle of next week.
