pony88 The Memphis Grizzlies have confirmed they are keeping Mike Conley (right) and Marc Gasol (right) with the team amid rumors of potential trades pony88.
Memphis Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace confirmed Friday that the team will not consider a trade for star tight end Marc Gasol and Mike Conley, saying the team wants them to be long-term pillars of the franchise. (pony88 )
“We have no intention of trading Mark,” Wallace told ESPN when asked if the team was considering a trade for the 32-year-old center. “We’ve never seriously considered it. We’ve never approached anybody about it. So it’s never going to happen.”
“It’s not just Mark. It’s Mike Conley. When he comes back, we’re going to have two of the best tight ends in the league at their positions.”
Gasol, 32, has struggled in recent years, prompting speculation that the Grizzlies could consider a trade, while Conley, 30, has struggled to stay healthy and hasn’t been a part of the team as much as he could be. But Wallace insists the duo are still long-term pillars of the franchise.
