The 22-year-old missed Monday’s loss to the Portland Trail Blazers with a back injury but returned to play 18 minutes against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, a team statement said. The injury will likely keep him out for up to half a month. 

Jordan, a second-year veteran, has improved dramatically, averaging 16.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and shooting 36.5% from distance in eight games in the 2024-25 season. 

Injuries have hit New Orleans hard with the backcourt, which has been without De’Ont’ Murray (hand), CJ McCollum (groin) and Herb Jones (shoulder). 

Former All-Star Zion Williamson has also been struggling with illness and a hamstring injury, which has seen him miss four straight games. ( pgzen )
