Spain have confirmed that Pau Torres has been given permission to leave the Spanish training camp to return to Aston Villa after the 27-year-old centre-back suffered a thigh injury, with Luis de la Fuente calling up Pau Gubarsi, who required 10 stitches in his face, as his replacement, according  to Diario AS on Wednesday. 

Pau Torres is the second player to withdraw from the Spain squad following Lamine Yamal ahead of this week’s Nations League games against Denmark and Switzerland, with De la Fuente calling up 23-year-old Girona forward Brian Kiel to replace the Barcelona youngster, but no replacement for the 27-year-old centre-back has been called up. 

De La Fuente currently has Aymeric Laporte and Daniel Bebian as the two main centre-backs, with Aitor Paredes, who was called up for the first time, as a substitute, while Gubarsi was called up to strengthen the team.  ( wintime999 )
