OFFICIAL: Chelsea sign ‘Gittens’ to strengthen attack line for 52 million pounds marinabays

marinabays Chelsea have announced the signing of Borussia Dortmund forward Jamie Gittens for a total fee of £52m on a contract until 2032.

The Blues have already made two signings in attack, with Liam Delap from Ipswich Town for £30m and Joao Pedro from Brighton & Hove Albion for £60m. marinabays

The latest signing is the 20-year-old English star from the Yellow and Blacks, which marks his return to Chelsea after brief stints playing for the U-8 and U-9 youth teams as a child.

” It feels great, it’s a great feeling to join a big club like Chelsea. I can’t wait to learn from everyone and push myself to the limit here. It’s an amazing feeling, ” Gittens told  chelseafc.com.

“It feels like a complete cycle. I was at Chelsea when I was at U8 or U9 level around that time. I wasn’t there for long but I remember going to Chelsea and being so excited to come home from school and be at Chelsea for two hours once a week. It was a great feeling.”

“I remember playing for Reading and Manchester City and playing for Chelsea in the youth academy, so to go back to Cobham as a Chelsea player is great.”

For Gittens, he came through the youth ranks at Reading, Chelsea and Manchester City before moving to Dortmund in 2020, until being promoted to the first team in 2022, making 107 appearances, scoring 17 goals and providing 14 assists. ( marinabays )
