San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch plans to bolster his roster in April after losing 16 players and watching as teams sign top players in free agency as the organization resets after spending big over the years, The Athletic reports. mungmee168
“We have a thing called the draft, and we have a lot of options,” Lynch said. “And I think what fans should know is we have a plan, and we’re going to execute that plan, and we’re excited about this opportunity.”
The 49ers are in transition with 11 picks in the 2025 draft, while Lynch is allocating money to new deals with a few players down the line, including 25-year-old quarterback Brock Purdy.
“‘It’s important that you look to the next year (from now),’ Lynch said. ‘And we anticipated that, and we’ve got a lot of good things coming up, and you’ve got to clear the necessary space to do that, and you don’t want to get to the point where you have to do certain things to keep your roster afloat. You want that flexibility.’
“Last year, we had a really good roster,” Lynch said. “I think we went all out and said, ‘Let’s do this,’ and we went all out because we knew at that point we were going to have to reset the roster. And this is the year. Players like Leonard Floyd and Malik, believe me, their impact is felt. They’re very good. They’re not doing anything wrong.
