Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert, 32, admits being underrated has inspired him to work harder to prove himself and help the Dolphins win, NFL Network reports. ( wilson88 )
Mostert rushed 209 times for 1,012 yards and 18 touchdowns, no other running back in the NFL has scored as many, and the 32-year-old earned his first Pro Bowl call since entering the league undrafted in 2015.
“No matter what happens, I’m still underrated,” Mostert said. “I’m the kind of guy who’s underrated and not very well-known. That’s normal for me.”
Despite his great performances, he still hasn’t gotten the credit he deserves, Mostert said of the incident: ‘When I do what I do, compete and show people that I’m worth it, I’m worth it. Then the haters shut up.’
‘I like that. I take advantage of that and I don’t care what people say. I’m going to go out here, help this team win, and I’m going to do what I have to do.’
It was the first time he was ranked in the league’s top 100 by his NFL peers, but he only finished 60th, which Mostert wasn’t surprised about.
“I’m pretty high up,” Mostert said. “I feel a little sad because I think I’m a little bit lower, but honestly, it gives me more motivation to work harder. I did what I did last year, but now it’s time to move on.”
‘It’s 2024 and I’ve done bigger and better things that I wanted to accomplish. I also want to help this team as much as I can because it’s great to have a championship in South Florida.’
