Maignan’s current contract with Milan runs until 2026, but Milan are unwilling to face the player entering the final year of his contract if the situation drags on next summer.

The France international goalkeeper is currently on a salary of €3.2 million per year but is expected to demand a pay rise if he signs a new deal.

As Italian journalist Matteo Moretto reveals, Maignan could become one of the team’s highest-paid players if he signs a new deal.

Currently, Rafael Leao and Theo Hernandez are the two players with the highest salaries at the club, with around €5-5.5 million per year. 

Milan remain positive that they will be able to extend the 29-year-old’s contract, but talks are not yet finalised and are unlikely to be completed before the end of September. ( biggame1688 )
