Mathieu reveals Saints are hungry to revive their form next season hotfuns

New Orleans Saints safety Tyrann Mathieu, 32, believes he, his teammates and head coach Dennis Allen are hungry to lead the Saints to a playoff run in the 2024 season, NFL Network reports.  ( hotfuns )

Mathieu last played in the postseason with the Kansas City Chiefs, who lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in 2021. The veteran safety joined the Saints after that and has yet to make the playoffs in the past two seasons, and the 32-year-old insists the Saints are hungry to reach that goal. 

‘We have a much better attitude,’ Mathieu said. ‘We will have a much better attitude this season. I think it’s personal, not just for us, I think for our coaches as well. We want to bring a good product to the market. We’re going to get back to the way we were, just playing with attitude.’

Mathieu, a three-time All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowl selection, continued his impressive run in 2023, recording four interceptions, nine pass breakups and 75 tackles in 17 starts, while the Saints finished the season 9-8, improving from a below-par 7-10 season under head coach Dennis Allen. 

The Saints have not made the playoffs in three straight seasons since entering the postseason, coming off a run of four straight NFC South titles.
