Spanish outlet Marca reported on Tuesday that Real Madrid and Brazil forward Vinicius Junior has been informed that he will win the 2024 France Football Ballon d’Or award, which will be presented at the end of October. 

Vinicius, who played a key role in Real Madrid’s La Liga and Champions League triumphs last season, is one of the favourites to win this year’s Ballon d’Or, along with Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodrigo Hernandez, but Marca claim the Brazilian forward has been informed he will scoop this year’s prestigious award. 

The Ballon d’Or gala will be held in Paris on October 28, after the previous weekend’s ‘El Clasico’, where Vinicius will receive his award, with the club planning to renovate the Nike store on Gran Via in Madrid to showcase new merchandise in honour of Los Blancos’ Ballon d’Or recipients, using a gold theme.
