Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love, 25, has not ruled out a return to the lineup against the division rival Detroit Lions on Sunday, ESPN reports. 

Love suffered a groin injury in Sunday’s 30-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, completing 14 of 22 passes for 196 yards, no touchdowns and one interception before leaving the game early in the second half. The 25-year-old quarterback has not practiced, but has been on a bike and hasn’t ruled out a return on Sunday. 

“I think it’s possible,” Love said. “Yeah, not practicing during the week is not the best scenario to try to play a game. Like I said, things happen. If that’s the case, I know I’ll be fine, but it’s definitely not the best scenario to play a big week.”

Packers coach Matt LaFleur said he would assess Love’s physical condition on a day-to-day basis and see how he is over the weekend, suggesting the 25-year-old quarterback could play without practicing.

“He’s moving better,” LaFleur said. “We’ll see. We’ll take it one day at a time. We’ll try our best. I know he wants to play, but we’ll see how he is this weekend.” 

But LaFleur stressed that the decision to start Love was only made if he was confident the 25-year-old quarterback could protect himself.

“I think just playing, moving around the floor and not trying to hurt yourself more by playing, I think that’s what he meant,” Love said of LaFleur’s philosophy. “But for me, just being able to move around a little bit, being myself on the play and not trying to get stuck in the pocket, not moving unless I have to.”  (Messi1688 )
