The Reds have left Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah with contracts running until June 2025, and it is still up to the Red Devils to decide whether they will be able to keep them. 

But at least Slots hinted that ‘VVD’ is likely to continue wearing the captain’s armband at Anfield.

“The contract situation is only a problem if the players are not performing like they are now – but again, the contract situation cannot be rushed,” he said at the press conference before the match against Brighton (November 2).

“All three are playing very well at the moment and Van Dijk’s representatives have already come to discuss it,”

“Let’s wait and see, but Virgil has the right to not know anything about the future if he hasn’t signed an official contract.”  

The 33 -year-old has been consistent this season, having played in 12 games and scored two goals in all competitions, and has never been substituted before the end of the match.  ( Superheng1688  )
