Koulibaly confident Jackson is good enough to win Ballon d’Or Superpg1688

    The 23-year-old has come under heavy criticism since moving to Stamford Bridge last summer, despite scoring 17 goals in 44 games in all competitions, but has missed a number of easy chances and lacked consistency.

    Jackson has made an impressive start to the season, scoring six goals and providing three assists in his first nine Premier League games, and Koulibaly is a big fan of the Senegal international’s talent and is confident he has what it takes to win the Ballon d’Or.

    “I speak with Nicolas all the time because he is a team-mate of the national team, he is a young player that I admire, I speak with him a lot,” Koulibaly told GiveMeSport. “Nicolas can be a great player – Edouard Mendy and I speak with him a lot because we know how difficult it is to go from Villarreal to a big club like Chelsea.”

    “I give him a lot of advice on what to do and he listens to the senior players. Of course, there are high expectations from Chelsea, they want goals, they want assists and the players have to play well from the start.”

    “I hope he can be the best player in Africa and why not the best in the world? He’s got talent, everything is on his feet – Nicolas has to believe he can be the best, that’s the main thing. All the players who win the Ballon d’Or believe they can, they think they can win trophies, so you have to put that in Nicolas’ head.”
