kindee1688 The Arizona Cardinals are playing the cold-blooded franchise man and won’t consider offering starting running back David Johnson a new contract until he’s satisfied with his 2018 performance after recovering from a year-long injury.

CBS Sports reports on the progress of the new deal for the 26-year-old, who has just recovered from a broken wrist that he suffered in the opening game of the 2017 season until the long break. kindee1688   

As Johnson is entering the final year of his rookie contract and has not signed an extension, he will become a free agent in March 2019.

However, Cardinals management is still hesitant about how fully he will recover, so they are delaying the contract extension until after the 2018 season opener against the Washington Redskins at the earliest. 

If the All-Pro player can replicate his 2016 form, when he rushed for 1,239 yards and 16 scores while catching for 80, 879 yards and adding four touchdowns, he shouldn’t have a problem with a handsome salary.  ( kindee1688 )
