New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas confirmed the signing of Marcus May to keep the 28-year-old veteran safety with the team for the 2021 season, believing it will have no impact on negotiations for a long-term deal. Somehow According to a report from NFL Network on Monday.  ( superpg1688  )

May, a second-round draft pick in the 2017 class, has been effective during his time at New York, especially over the past two seasons, recording three interceptions, deflecting 18 passes, and forcing opponents to concede two fumbles. Made 153 tackles and 153 tackles, including 5 turnovers, between 2019 and 2020 when he started all 32 games. 

‘Look, this is part of the business. It’s part of the negotiations,’ Douglas revealed. ‘I don’t see how this will affect our ability to do something with Marcus that is beneficial to both him and the team.’ 

May wants a long-term deal But the tag will net the 28-year-old safety an estimated $10.5 million in salary. All guaranteed for the 2021 season if both sides are unable to conclude a long-term contract by July 15.
