“I approached the off-season differently,” Warren said. “I did a lot of things to get more playing time. Instead of training like putting on cleats and running up 30 hills, I had to adapt. This game is about the long term, and as they say, the best ability is readiness.”
Since entering the league undrafted in 2022, Warren has missed just three games, including twice in 2024, due to a hamstring injury early in the season. But as he recovered from that injury, the 26-year-old running back has proven his durability.
Warren is an elite receiving back, averaging 61 catches in 2023, averaging 298 yards and 42 receptions per year, but he has yet to rush for more than 150 yards in a season, carrying the ball 149 times in 2023, 30.5 percent of the time, and carrying it 22.5 percent of the time last season.
Warren is currently one of the Steelers’ running backs, along with third-round rookie draft pick Caleb Johnson and veteran running back Kenneth Gainwell, and Warren has said he is ready to shoulder a larger workload in the 2025 season. ( kindee1688 )
