ESPN’s revelation about the 32-year-old, who is entering the final year of his contract signed in 2016, suggests that the new season may not be in the team’s plans.  hotfuns

Head coach Pete Carroll, who attended the 2018 Combine, was also evasive about his tough subordinate’s future. “I haven’t spoken to Mike yet, but this year is the time to have a conversation and figure out a direction together.” 

Bennett is due to make $7.4 million in the 2018 season, but if he is traded or traded before June 1, the team would save $2.2 million. That would be the team’s first option. 

Or option 2, if the trade is made or the player is released before March 18, the Seahawks will pay only $3 million for the player as a team member, saving $4.4 million. 

The 32-year-old’s sack total was second on the team in 2017 with 8.5 sacks, and has been a regular on the defensive side of the ball since 2013. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2014 until missing last season due to injury.  ( hotfuns )
