Brandin Cooks, 31, is returning to New Orleans after signing a two-year, $13 million deal with the Saints, his first professional team, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. hotfuns
Coogs played in New Orleans for the first three years of his career, having entered the league as a first-round draft pick in the 2014 draft class, before moving on to the New England Patriots, Los Angeles Rams, Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys before becoming a free agent this offseason and returning to the Saints on a two-year deal.
The 31-year-old wide receiver has spent the last two seasons in Dallas, where he played second fiddle to CeeDee Lamb, catching 80 passes for 916 yards and 11 touchdowns. Over his 11-year career, he has totaled 9,273 receiving yards and 57 touchdowns in 148 games (135 starts).
The Saints, under new head coach Kellen More, are looking for a wide receiver with potential, and while Cougs isn’t playing at the level he once did, the 31-year-old’s experience would be a valuable asset to the Saints’ offense. ( hotfuns )
