Amorim is counting down the days until his return to Sporting Lisbon after being officially appointed as Manchester United’s new head coach, replacing sacked Erik ten Hag. 

The Red Devils’ future manager took charge of Sporting for the first of his final three league games, with a 5-1 home win over Estrella on Friday.  

Victor Gyokeres, the star striker, scored 4 goals in this match and was asked about his future, possibly playing for Manchester United to reunite with Amorim.

“Will I follow Amorim to Manchester United? I don’t know. I’m here and as you can see I’m enjoying myself at Sporting. There’s nothing for me to think about.”
