The Athletic recently reported that Arsenal have held talks with Ajax over a move for Setford this summer.

The talented 18-year-old goalkeeper is said to be set to join for £869,000 plus bonuses and is expected to sign a four-year deal.

Setford has a younger brother named Charlie, who is also a goalkeeper for Ajax.

Tommy has been highly regarded and has broken into the Ajax first team.

Setford has the option to play for either England or the Netherlands, having an English father and a Dutch mother.

He represented England at last year’s Under-17 World Cup, where the Young Lions were shocked by Uzbekistan in the round of 16.

Meanwhile, there is uncertainty over Aaron Ramsdale’s future after losing his first-choice goal to Raya, with reports linking him with a move away from the club this summer.
