Eintracht Frankfurt confirmed on Tuesday that 21-year-old centre-back Aurele Amenda is set to undergo surgery on his left ankle on Wednesday, without giving a timeframe for his return, according to Kicker. 

Amenda made his Switzerland debut in Friday’s 1-1 draw with Serbia, playing the entire 90 minutes, but it was later reported that he had injured his left ankle and the Red and Blacks are preparing to have the 21-year-old centre-back undergo surgery on Wednesday and is now out with no date set for his return.

Frankfurt signed Amenda from Young Boys in January and loaned him to the Swiss side for the second half of last season before officially joining the Red and Blacks this summer. He has made four Bundesliga appearances, starting once, and has played just 69 minutes. ( zbet911 )
