Jared Dudley’s agent, Andy Miller, says the Dallas Mavericks assistant coach is in talks to become the assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets under head coach David Edelman, ESPN reports.
Dudley has been on the Mavericks’ staff since 2021 and becomes head coach Jason Kidd’s third assistant to leave Dallas this offseason, following Sean Sweeney and God Shammgod, who left for the San Antonio Spurs and Orlando Magic, respectively.
Dudley, 39, was a first-round draft pick of the Charlotte Bobcats in 2007. He spent 14 seasons in the NBA, averaging 7.3 points and 3.2 rebounds in 904 games. He previously interviewed for the Phoenix Suns head coaching job, which went to Jordan Ott.
The Nuggets hired Edelman as their new head coach in May after Michael Malone was fired as interim head coach, and led the team to victory in its final three regular season games. They first advanced to the playoffs after dispatching the LA Clippers in seven games, but their run ended in the next round after losing to the eventual champion Oklahoma City Thunder. Kindee1688
