LA Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh breathed a sigh of relief after the Thunder edged out the Cincinnati Bengals 34-27 on a late touchdown run by running back J.K. Dobbins, NFL Network reported.
The Chargers took a 24-6 lead at the half on two touchdowns from Justin Herbert, and another score on a one-yard run from Dobbins into the end zone.
However, the Bengals scored 21 points in a row to cut the deficit 27-27 on two touchdown passes from Joe Burrow to wide receiver Jamar Chase and a score from wide receiver Tee Higgins. But Herbert completed a four-play, 84-yard drive before Dobbins made a 29-yard run to seal the victory with 18 seconds left.
‘Great team win! It’s awesome,’ Harbaugh said after the game.
“As Dobbins, who carried the ball 11 times for 56 yards, said after the game, ‘First of all, Bradley Bozman (center) said, ‘Never mind. Go score.’ I said, ‘Okay, I get it.'”
“So I went to the sideline and I asked Coach (Keel) MacDonald (running back), ‘Do you want me to score here? He said, ‘Never mind, let’s go score. ‘ So I knew I could score, like when we lined up, I felt like I had to score, and that’s what happened.”
Herbert finished the game completing 17 of 36 passes for 297 yards and two touchdowns, and had five carries for 65 yards as the Chargers improved to 7-3 for the first time since 2018.
Burrow completed 28 of 50 passes for 356 yards and three touchdowns, while Tee Higgins caught nine passes for 148 yards and one touchdown, and Jamar Chase caught seven passes for 75 yards and two scores( sakidbet )
