Atalanta have completed talks with Leverkusen over the signing of Ivory Coast defender Odilon Cossounou on a one-year loan deal worth €4m with an option to buy for a fee in excess of €27m, according to Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
After failing to sign Rodrigo Bekao from Fenerbahce, Atalanta turned their attention to Kossounou and eventually agreed a deal with Leverkusen to bring the 23-year-old on a one-year loan worth €4m with an option to make it permanent, with the player due to undergo a medical and complete his official signing on Wednesday.
Kossounou joined Leverkusen from Club Brugge in the summer of 2021 for a fee in the region of €23m. The 23-year-old’s all-round ability helped the Bayer Leverkusen to a successful campaign last season, scoring once in 34 appearances. ( hotfuns )
