Lukaku has reunited with Conte at Napoli this season after joining from Chelsea, having previously worked together at Inter Milan, where they won the 2020/21 Serie A title.  

Conte spoke highly of the Belgium international who scored the opening goal to give his team a 2-0 win at AC Milan, extending their lead to seven points. 

“Romelu Lukaku rejected offers from Premier League clubs to wait for us and joined Napoli in August, taking a pay cut.”

“He really wants to work with us again and that’s great. He’s a great guy and a top player.”
