Alex Collins, former running back for the Seattle Seahawks, died Sunday night at the age of 28 after a motorcycle accident in Lauderdale. Lakes, Florida, according to NFL Network. ( onelove168  )

The Broward County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office reports Collins’ fatal accident occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. local time on Sunday. The 28-year-old former running back was traveling west on a 2004 Suzuki GSX-R600K motorcycle. According to investigators, the driver of the Chevrolet Suburban SUV was turning left to travel south on Northwest 33rd Ave. 

as the SUV crossed into the eastbound lane. The motorcycle crashed into the rear passenger side of the SUV, causing Collins’ body to jump into the opposing vehicle and he died instantly at the scene. 

Collins, who turns 29 on August 28, was selected by the Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2016 draft. In five seasons in Seattle, he ran the ball 483 times. He had 1,997 yards and 18 touchdowns and 467 receiving yards in 50 games (29 starts). He also moved to play with the Baltimore Ravens in the 2018 season and played in the NFL.
