Football Insider reports that Newcastle United are among a number of clubs keeping a close eye on Delap and are keen to bolster their squad this summer, with Ipswich likely to be relegated.
Newcastle have reportedly sent scouts to watch Delap in recent games and he is one of the top targets for Eddie Howe, the Magpies’ head coach, as he looks to strengthen his frontline for the 2025-26 season.
Delap has previously been linked with a number of clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United, with Ipswich expected to pay around £40m for the 22-year-old striker if he leaves at the end of the season.
Delap has scored 10 Premier League goals this season, almost half the 26 that Kieran McKenna’s side have managed through their first 28 games, so the former Manchester City striker is expected to continue his fine form as he moves to a bigger club. ( bully168 )
