Bochum have appointed 60-year-old Dieter Hecking as their new manager to help salvage the club’s fortunes after they have picked up just one point from their first nine Bundesliga games and are currently bottom of the table, Kicker reported on Monday. 

The club sacked Peter Zeidler after picking up just one point from their first seven games of the season, with Markus Feldhoff acting as caretaker head coach for the two defeats to Bayern Munich (0-5) and Eintracht Frankfurt (2-7). 

Bochum have officially announced the appointment of Hecking as their new coach after previously taking charge of Nuremberg on an interim basis in the 2022-2023 season. The 60-year-old coach previously worked with VfL, Lubeck, Aachen, Hannover, Wolfsburg, Gladbach and Hamburg, until Nuremberg became his latest club.  ( vox888 )
