Bills promote Babić to new wide receivers coach superwinway

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott has agreed to promote 40-year-old linebackers coach Bobby Babich as the Buffalo Bills’ new offensive coach, according to a report. Ian Rapoport, NFL Network superwinway

Babic has been a part of the staff ever since. McDermott He took over as head coach of the Bills in 2017, starting as an assistant defensive back coach. Continued as safety coach from 2018-2021, then moved to linebacker coach in 2022 until promoted to be the new defensive coach of the Buffaloes. ( superwinway )

The Bills finished 3rd in the NFL in takeaways with 25 and 7th in interceptions with 15 in 2020 before evolving into the N-League’s No. 1 defense. NFL in 2021 for lowest yards lost and yards lost per play. 

Meanwhile, Matt Mailano, a 29-year-old linebacker, improved his performance to become an All-Pro player in 2022 under Babic’s tutelage before an unfortunate knee injury ended his career. The Bills promoted Babić to become the new offensive coach just two days after the Buffaloes appointed Joe Brady as permanent offensive coach after serving in the interim role since midway through last season. The Buffaloes are without a defensive coach for the 2023 season since Leslie Frazier resigned at the end of the 2022 season.
