‘I found out about it earlier that week. You must have been shocked,’ Andrews said. ‘I was very lucky. I worked for 10 years and never got fired. I had a vague dream that I might be able to make my own decisions.’

Andrews’ 10-year stint in New England ended after just four games into the 2024 season when he suffered a shoulder injury in October that ended the season prematurely. 

The 32-year-old center said he was surprised by his release because he felt he could also help new head coach Mike Vrabel and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

“I’m really excited for this opportunity with Josh and the new coaches and getting to know them,” Andrews said. “But at the same time, I know that offense really well. I had a lot of success on that offense. It’s a good fit for my style of play, how I like to play, what I like to do, so I’ve had a lot of success and I’m excited about getting it together again. I’ve got a great relationship with Josh and, you know, I’m excited to see Vrabel and what he does as a football coach.”

‘I thought I could have the surgery and see what happened and obviously the team made the decision that they were trying to do what was best for the football team. We’ve been told that for a long time and you know, you respect that as a player. Of course I thought there was something I could do to help and give value, but I understand their decision to some extent.’ 

The Patriots signed former Minnesota Vikings center Garrett Bradbury and former right tackle Morgan Moses, and are expected to add more offensive line from the draft in April. ( bgames666 )
