Veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp, 31, has revealed he wants to continue playing football with the LA Rams but admits it’s out of his control what happens this offseason, ESPN reports. betflikth99
‘I feel like I still have a lot of good football left,’ said Kupp. ‘I will play football next year. That’s all I know.’
The 31-year-old wide receiver acknowledged trade rumors before the deadline last season, and he also spoke about it during the offseason. ‘Who knows what’s going to happen? That’s out of my control, and we’ll see how it goes. I don’t have any concrete information on what it’s going to look like or anything like that. So, of course, I’d like to be in LA, but I don’t know what it’s going to look like.’
Kupp is still on a two-year deal through 2022 with $5 million guaranteed in 2025. If the Rams choose to cut the 31-year-old wide receiver, they would save $15 million and $7.52 million against the salary cap.
If the Rams choose to cut him after June 1, they would have $22.2 million in dead money due to his remaining signing bonus and $5 million to remain on the roster.
Kupp had 67 catches for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 12 regular-season games. He missed four games with an ankle injury in Week 2 and will not play in the final game of the 2024 season after the Rams win the NFC West. ( betflikth99 )
