Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said the team plans to discuss a new deal with Lamar Jackson to replace the five-year, $260 million deal the 28-year-old quarterback signed in 2023, NFL Network reports. berlin1688
Jackson is set to make just $20.25 million in base salary in 2025, with $43.5 million in cap space. The following year, his base salary will increase to $51.25 million and $74.5 million in cap space if he doesn’t sign a new deal this offseason.
“I know there’s been some internal discussions about it,” Harbaugh said. “I don’t know how far along it is. I think it’s an obvious issue that’s going to have to be addressed really with all of those players. You just want to address that, the salary cap, and Lamar is a big part of that because he’s a franchise player. That’s a possibility. I think it’s going to happen sooner or later. It’s going to happen, for sure.”
Jackson isn’t the only Ravens wide receiver who could be in line for a new deal, as veteran running back Derrick Henry, who is entering the final year of his two-year deal, is also in line for a new deal after rushing for 1,921 yards and a league-high 16 touchdowns in his first full season in Baltimore in 2024.
“It’s definitely in the conversation. I know people are talking about it and yeah, I’d love to see it happen,” Harbaugh said of the new deal with Henry. ( berlin1688 )
