Benzema, who currently plays for Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, was invited to appear on a programme by pro-Madrid outlet El Chiringuito TV, which sought to create drama to cover up the issue of Los Blancos boycotting the France Football awards ceremony. ( zbet911 )

And the former ‘Los Blancos’ student gave it his all, both praising his junior and making a sarcastic remark to Rodri, the 2024 winner. 

“I’ve spoken to ‘Vini’ and he’s sad… that’s normal,” the 36-year-old forward said. 

“He deserves to win the Ballon d’Or.”

“I have no problem with Rodri, he’s a good player… but when I sit on the sofa watching the game live on TV,”

“I have to say, Rodri has never made a shot that made me go ‘wow’.”  

Benzema, however, probably did not read the award’s qualifications, as the 28-year-old received the most votes, ahead of second-placed Vinicius Jr., on top of the judging criteria beyond his performances on the pitch and his role in the team’s success. 

What is stated is the clean play and the un-cheap attitude. In this aspect, the Spanish player is the clear winner.
