Atletico Madrid paid just €6m to sign Samu from Granada last summer, before loaning him out to Alaves on a one-year deal, where he returned to the Rojiblancos in the summer. 

Atletico Madrid are reportedly willing to let Samu leave the Civitas Metropolitano this summer if they are successful in signing Alvarez from Man City for around €60-70m.

Atletico are demanding around €40m for Samu to leave, which could tempt Chelsea back into the mix after the Blues had a €32.5m bid rejected.
