Romero has been struggling with an injury since the international break against Aston Villa before the international break and played for Argentina against Paraguay, where he was substituted at half-time, and missed Tuesday’s game against Peru.

“He (Romero) is not 100 per cent fit yet, so it’s not clear for this weekend. The others who have come back from the national team are fine, no problem.”

While Van de Ven has been struggling with a hamstring injury and has started light training, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has confirmed he will be available for at least another two weeks.

“Mickey has been training on the pitch, but it will take another two weeks. We hope to be back on the pitch by the middle of next month.”

If Romero is not fit, Spurs’ centre-back options will be a pair of Radu Dragusin and Ben Davies.  ( wintime999 )
