Jonathan Tah’s agent, Pini Zahavi, has revealed that the 28-year-old centre-back is still a target for Bayern Munich despite a summer move to the Bavarians falling through, according to Diario AS on Monday.
Tah was close to joining Bayern Munich last summer but Leverkusen demanded exorbitant wages from the player, who only had one year left on his contract, leading to the deal falling through. Tah will now have to play for the final year of his contract and is set to leave in the summer of 2025.
But now Tah’s value has skyrocketed after being the subject of interest from both Barcelona and Real Madrid, especially with the Whites in need of another centre-back after losing Eder Militao to injury and having to sit out for a long time again, while David Alaba is still unclear when he will be able to recover and play. That leaves Los Blancos with only Antonio Rudiger as their only main centre-back.
However, Zahavi, as Tah’s agent, insists there is still a high chance the Germany international centre-back will join Bayern Munich on a free transfer next summer rather than move elsewhere.
‘The idea is for Tah to go to Bayern, the club really wants to sign him. We would like to take some of the money from selling the player to Leverkusen, but unfortunately Leverkusen are asking too much. Next summer he will go to a big club. Bayern still have a good chance to sign him. He will go to one of the big clubs next summer,’ Zahavi confirmed. ( thaisiambet )
