Diario AS journalist Javier Miguel reported on Wednesday that 17-year-old Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal is still recovering from his injury and is ready to return for Saturday’s trip to Celta Vigo in the La Liga. 

Yamal injured his right ankle in the 5-2 Champions League win at Red Star Belgrade, meaning the 17-year-old forward missed the 1-0 defeat at Real Sociedad and later withdrew from Spain’s squad for the Nations League games against Denmark and Switzerland.

Initial assessments suggest that Yamal will need around two to three weeks to recover, so the teenage forward is unlikely to be available for Saturday’s trip to Celta Vigo, with Barcelona wanting to be extra cautious as he is only 17 and not want to field a player who is not 100 per cent fit, risking further injury.
